Chandigarh recorded 366 cases and five deaths on Wednesday, taking the total count to 8,958 and 101 deaths. There are 3,171 active cases.
Mohali reported 249 positive cases and three deaths, taking the toll 7,374 and 148 deaths. As many as 123 people were discharged and there are 2,443 active cases in the district.
The cases were reported as: 69 from Mohali urban, 32 from Kharar, 47 from Gharuan, 46 from Dhakoli, 20 from Dera Bassi, 9 from Lalru, 4 from Boothgarh, 11 from Kurali and 9 from Banur.
In Panchkula, 110 fresh cases and two deaths were reported taking the total to 4,496 and death toll to 53. There are 1,272 active cases in the district.
Chd Admn discontinues practice of pasting posters
Also, Chandigarh Administration on Wednesday decided to discontinue the practice of pasting posters on quarantined houses and stamping on hands of quarantined persons. Adviser Manoj Parida decided to follow Punjab Government’s practice due to several complaints from affected people regarding social ridicule and stigmatisation.
