Though the Shardiya Navratri has begun, there will be no major celebrations or cultural events due to the Covid pandemic at Kalibari.

This year marks 50 years of the establishment of Maa Durga in Kalibari. There was a plan for a huge events, but they could not take place due to the infection.
Only 60 devotees will be allowed to enter at a time. For darshan, the timings are from 8am to 2pm and from half past four in the evening to six in the evening. This time, devotees won’t be able to offer flowers in ‘Pushpanjil’. Earlier, after the pooja, women used to play ‘Sindoor kehla’ (apply vermilion to each other). But this time, that will not be allowed. There will be arrangement for 25 people to go in at one time for statue immersion. Hands will be sanitized and temperature will be checked with thermal screening before entering the temple.
