In light of the surging Covid-19 cases, the Punjab government on Tuesday announced stricter restrictions in the state.
These restrictions will be applicable from April 27 till further orders. The night curfew shall now be from 6pm to 5am with home delivery allowed up to 9pm. Earlier, the night curfew was enforced from 8pm to 5am. Likewise, the weekend curfew shall remain effective from 5am on Saturday up to 5am on Monday.
All shops, including those in malls and multiplexes, to close by 5pm with home delivery allowed up to 9pm. All private offices, including service industry, are allowed to work from home only.
Chemist shops and shops dealing with supply of essential goods will be exempted from Covid restrictions. Other activities that will be exempted include:
-To and fro movement of passengers travelling via air, train, buses, etc.
-Movement of employees of manufacturing industry and vehicles carrying them.
-Construction activities in rural and urban areas.
-E-commerce and movement of all goods.
-Vaccination out-reach camps.
