Top seed Navya Verma and Riya Kaushik won boys and girls singles titles, respectively, on the concluding day of the CLTA-AITA Championship Series (CS-3) Tennis Tournament. Verma defeated 2nd seed Aditya Chauhan in straight sets 6-2 6-2. Navya played high quality tennis. Verma won the first set without getting much pressure 6-2. In the second set, Verma maintained his momentum and played without losing his temperament throughout the match, finally he closed the set and the match 6-2 easily.
In girls’ singles final, top seed Riya Kaushik defeated second seed Radhika Vasudeva 6-3 7-5. Riya won the first set 6-3. She used her aggressive forehand and good variation in the 1st set. She also played a few forehand winning shots in the 1st set. In the second set, both players played top quality tennis. Radhika was leading 5-4 up and serving for the second set. Riya broke Radhika serve in the 10th game, finally Riya used her experience and took the next 2 games in a row to closed the 2nd set and match 7-5. Dr Jasjit Singh, Vice President, Dr Reet Mahinder Sindh, Member, Executive Committee, and Romen Singh, Chief Coach, CLTA distributed the prizes to the winners and runners-up of both events.
