Under Mission Tandarust, Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh virtually launched construction of 750 playgrounds and stadium on Friday. He said that in SAS Nagar Mohali three sports grounds are coming up, one each in Daun Majra in Kharar, Barsalpur Taprian in Majri and Chadiala in Dera Bassi block.
The fields are being made keeping particular discipline of sports in mind, such as kabbadi , hockey/ football, volleyball and cricket.
“Engagement in sports will keep youth away from drugs and build their stamina which will further help them qualify for police/army recruitment,” said the CM. ADC (G) Aditya Dechalwa, ADC (D) Arun Jindal, SDM Varjeet Walia, assistant commissioner Ashok Kumar SAS Nagar Mohali and others were present during the virtual ceremony.
