Man Arrested for False Accusation in Ludhiana Property Dispute

The arrest of a resident of Ludhiana has taken an unexpected turn in a convoluted case involving allegations of fraud and forgery. The police have charged Sushil Kumar and his companions Rajeev Kumar and Sanveer Singh for filing a fictitious police report against Gurmeet Singh, his neighbour.

The event started as a property dispute that turned into a criminal investigation. Gurmeet was accused by Sushil of accepting a ₹10 lakh advance for the sale of a property and then pulling out of the agreement. He gave the police fake documents to support his claims, which resulted in the filing of an FIR against Gurmeet.

But the victim’s misery changed when he fiercely refuted the allegations upon his return from overseas. As the police prepared to file a charge sheet, Gurmeet went to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to ask for help. The police discovered the fabrication after conducting a comprehensive investigation that included a forensic review of the contested papers.

It came to light that Sushil had made up the whole narrative to put his neighbour in a bad light. The fabricated documents were painstakingly created to deceive the authorities, replete with fictitious claims and signatures. Rajeev and Sanveer, the other two accused, served as witnesses to the fictitious agreement.

The police have started a case against the three on charges of fraud, forgery, and criminal conspiracy. An important development in the case is the chief accused’s arrest, even when the inquiry is still underway. This episode is a sobering reminder of the fallout from unfounded allegations and the value of conducting a careful inquiry in these situations.

Currently, the Ludhiana police are attempting to expose the full scope of the plot and prosecute each individual involved.
