Punjab Higher Education, Languages, education and Sports Minister Pargat Singh participated in historical Gadri Babean Da Mela that kick-started on Sunday.
The Minister who keenly visited book stalls and bought books on life and philosophy of Country’s Greatest martyr Bhagat Singh, Far-sighted politician and creator of modern Punjab Partap Singh Kairon’s life and other books. Pargat Singh also interacted with youth, children and listened to their views regarding the history of Gadri Babean Mela. Singh said he was happy to see that our youth is conscious and determined to follow the thinking of the great martyrs. He said that through book exhibitions, readers get to read the books of their choice.
Exhorting the youth to engage them in book culture, Cabinet Minister said that literature plays important role in personality development of the individuals as books are a storehouse of knowledge. He also took round the book stall set up by Language department. He also visited museum built in the memory of martyrs and met the members of Desh Bhagat Yadgaar Hall Committee representatives including Gurmeet Singh and others.
