The Met department on Tuesday issued a forecast through SMS, informing residents about light to moderate rainfall expected on December 12 and 13. According to weathermen, the days and nights both will turn colder this week with clouds making their way to the city. Mist and shallow fog will continue this week.
The message circulated by Met department read as, “Light to moderate rain or thundershowers (1-3cm) very likely at many places over the Tricity on December 12 and 13. Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) and lightening also likely at isolated places during this period.”
As per the forecast given by the Met department, weather is likely to be dry on December 11. On December 12 and 13 there are increased chances of rainfall in Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana and shallow to moderate fog is also expected. As clouds made a comeback on Monday, the day temperature had witnessed a visible drop. However, on Tuesday, following partly cloudy sky the day temperature shot up a little.
The minimum temperature on the other hand witnessed a slight drop on Tuesday.
For Wednesday, weathermen have given a forecast of partly cloudy sky with mist or shallow fog. Maximum temperature will be around 23°C while minimum will be around 9°C.
