State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will now offer voice calling benefits to its broadband customers. The company has rolled out new unlimited voice calling for all of its fibre broadband (FTTH) users in addition to existing broadband tariff plans on its network.
Some of the revamped plans offer the voice calling benefit only on BSNL’s own network while there are few other plans offering the benefit across any network. According to TelecomTalk, the offer has been made available to BSNL customers from June 1. BSNL also recently revamped its FTTH offerings in the country to counter the launch of JioFiber.
The new broadband offers from BSNL differ in terms of value of the recharge packs. BSNL subscribers who buy any broadband plan worth between Rs 249 and Rs 645, will now be able to make unlimited voice calls to any other BSNL user in the country. These revamped plans from the state-run telecom player also offer free night calling to any network. Those subscribing to broadband plan worth Rs 645 or above will get unlimited voice calls across any network in India.
The revised broadband tariff plans come on the heels of company’s updated FTTH plans. BSNL has doubled the FUP data for three of its FTTH plans. Its broadband plans worth Rs 1,045, Rs 1,395 and Rs 1,895 now offer data up to 200GB, which is more than what was previously offered by the operator. It has also announced the extension of its Free Sunday Calls offer for landline and broadband users.
According to reports, Reliance Jio is planning to launch its JioFiber, a FTTH broadband service during the second half of this year. The company has been running trials across the country ahead of the commerical launch. It is expected to offer an initial plan with up to 1.1TB of data to users, and will reportedly offer 100GB of free data every month at 100Mbps speed.
