Jathedar Tara Singh was unanimously elected as the chairman in the meeting of the Chandigarh Samuh Gurdwara Parbandhak Sangathan, an organisation of gurdwaras in the city, was held on Monday at Gurdwara Sahib, Sector 34.
He was honoured with Siropa (robe of honour) on behalf of the Sangat.
The newly elected chairman Jathedar Tara Singh was given the power to form a new executive. Tara Singh informed that an executive will be declared in this week, which will include vice-chairman, general secretary, secretary, press secretary, finance secretary, store in-charge, as well as office bearers of all Gurdwara Sahib Committees. A resolution was also passed in the meeting to support the farmers’ movement. Tara Singh said ten buses from Chandigarh will go to Delhi to show their solidarity and necessary materials will be sent.
