Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is currently recruiting engineers for various graduate and technician apprentice vacancies at Space Applications Centre (SAC). Selected candidates will be engaged for a one year training period, and will be registered under the Apprentice Act, 1961. Graduate apprentices will be given ₹9,000 per month and technician apprentices ₹8,000 per month as stipend.
Those candidates who wish to apply for the position must do so on or before 5pm, November 23, 2020.
Who can apply?
The official notification available on the SAC website says that for the graduate and technician vacancies, candidates who have a degree or diploma in engineering from a recognised university or board coming under the Western region of the board of apprenticeship training namely Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Diu and Daman (UTS) can apply.
For the graduate vacancies, candidates with a first-class BE or B.Tech in engineering with an aggregate minimum 65% marks or CGPA or CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10 scale declared by a recognised university, and for the technician vacancies, candidates with a first-class diploma in engineering from the following streams can apply:
- Electronics and communication engineering
- Mechanical engineering
- Computer engineering, computer science or information technology
- Electrical engineering
- Civil engineering
Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for the positions. Candidates who have passed their degree or diploma in engineering relevant field in or after November 2017 are only eligible to apply. After a period of one year, apprentices will not have any claim to employment in SAC or any other units of ISRO, says the notification. There is an age relaxation for candidates applying under the OBC, SC, and ST category.
No interim communication will be entertained and those who are shortlisted will be intimated via e-mail.
