Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the sixth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Both Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) have had a contrasting start to the new season. While RCB emerged victorious against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their opening fixture, KXIP were beaten in the season’s first Super Over against Delhi Capitals (DC).
As far as the head-to-head stats between the two sides, Punjab and Bengaluru are at 12-12 having won an equal amount of matches against each other in the 12 seasons so far. However, on closer inspection, the Kings XI Punjab side have lost four out of their five previous encounters against Royal Challengers Bangalore and they will be desperate to snap this losing streak.
KL Rahul and his KXIP side would be looking to make a comeback and win against RCB. However, it will not be easy against Virat Kohli’s side, who unlike other teams in previous editions, looks calmer and determined in IPL 2020.
Approaching Milestones
-Chris Gayle is 142 runs away from 1000 IPL runs for KXIP
-Virat Kohli needs 74 runs to complete 5500 IPL runs
-Dale Steyn needs 3 wickets to complete 100 wickets in the IPL
-AB de Villiers is 54 runs away from 4500 IPL runs
In yesterday’s match, Mumbai Indians displayed a stunning performance against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to seal a comfortable 49-run victory. Rohit Sharma played a fast-paced inning of 80 runs before bowlers destroyed KKR’s batting line up, confirming Mumbai Indians’ win in the match.
