After the conclusive match yesterday, the IPL 2024 has moved towards its playoff stage. Now, all eyes are on the upcoming Playoffs, where the top four teams will engage in the ultimate showdown for the converted IPL trophy
Let’s see who made it through and who will be left behind:
The Final Four:
- Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR):
Wins: 8 Losses: 4 Net Run Rate (NRR): +0.35
KKR has shown strong dominance throughout the first phase, with its incredible batting lineup including players like Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana playing in good form. However, their bowling attack has remained inconsistent at times, especially in the death overs.
- Rajasthan Royals (RR):
Wins: 8 Losses: 4 NRR: +0.132
RR has a well-balanced team with a potent batting lineup led by Jos Buttler and a bowling attach spearheaded by Jofra Archer. Though they struggle while handling pressure during close matches
- Delhi Capitals (DC):
Wins: 7 Losses: 5 NRR: -0.0217
The great form of Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shawhas has given Delhi Capitals a strong batting start-up. However, their bowling attack, especially their spin department has been a topic of concern throughout.
- Chennai Super Kings (CSK):
Wins: 6 Losses: 6 NRR: -0.047
CSK’s play has been consistent even after a shaky start in the beginning of the season. Their batting, usually recognised as their strong suit, didn’t perform that well, and their bowling attacks lacked the bite they once had.

- Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB): (Outside chance)
Wins: 5 Losses: 7 NRR: -0.049
Even after a star-studded batting lineup including Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis RCB was not able to capitalise their form into consistent wins. Neither their bowling attack has shown any aggressiveness throughout the season, However, a recent winning streak has given them a glimmer of hope for a playoff spot, provided other results go their way.
Teams that got eliminated:
- Mumbai Indians: Wins: 3 Losses: 9
- Punjab Kings: Wins: 4 Losses: 8
Note: The IPL season is still ongoing, and the standings can change with each match.
