Interactive session on ‘Save Soil’ movement held at Government College of Yoga Education Chandigarh

Government College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector 23-A, organised an interactive session on ‘Save Soil’ movement with the help of Isha Yoga foundation. The members of the foundation Dr Mona Chopra, Kashish, Seema, Rupali, Kartik, Ketan and Sandeep were welcomed by the Principal Yoga college Dr. Sapna Nanda.

Dr Sapna in her speech gave insights about the importance of soil in the area of diet and nutrition.The program commenced with a demonstration of advanced asanas by the students of the College. Thereafter an interactive session with students was conducted by Dr Mona, a practicing doctor and a volunteer from Isha foundation in which she shared the knowledge about the regeneration of the soil with different methods, so that the future generations and our planet should have a never ending biodiversity arable and cultivable soil which we will be losing if we do not take a step to save it today .

The slogan for the day was ‘Each one Reach one’. Kulwant Singh Yoga Instructor and Dr. Gunnidhi Sharma, Sanskrit teacher in college also shared their views on the significance of soil. The compering for the programme was done by Roshan Lal. Apart from the college students the session was also attended by the students of Government Girls Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 23, and they were accompanied by Shabnam Sharma. The session was attended by about 100 participants. The vote of thanks was extended by Dr Mohinder Kumar, Instructor of the college.
