In a view to improve the city’s public transport system, the second phase of Intelligent Transport System (ITS) trial has started. Before December, all buses will be connected to the ‘Tricity Bus’ (trycityBus) app.
So far, 100 buses of CTU can be tracked on this application. In the second phase of the ITS project, CTU has installed GPS in 73 buses and its trial is going on. Moreover, work for the third phase has also started and the remaining 185 buses will be added.
After the completion of the projects, residents will be able to track all the buses on their mobiles.
These facilities will be available:
-Electronic displays are being installed on all bus stops so that the exact time of arrival and departure of buses can be known.
-An emergency alarm facility
-Bus drivers will get the facility of SMS so that they can give information about their departure time, which will be monitored by the Central System of CTU.
-Smart bus passes will be made on the lines of Delhi Metro. -The bus depot will be connected to the primary control station.
