Indian Railways Started Installing Plastic Bottle Crushers on Railway Stations

New Delhi
Plastic has become one of the major challenges for every country across world. Every country is trying different method to tackle this abruptly growing anti-environment plastic.
Similarly, Indian Railways has taken an initiative by installing plastic bottle crushers at railway stations. It has started from Vadodra Railway Station. By dropping each bottle into these crushers can give you Rs 5 on your Paytm wallet. You just need to enter your mobile number after inserting a bottle into it. It encourages people to adopt this habit of shredding used plastics bottles which are increasing day by day.
It helps Indian Government to achieve their target of making India plastic free by 2022 as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is a great initiative by Indian Railways & is getting praised by everyone in the country. They also introduced Eco-friendly plates to serve meals on Railway Stations on this Environment day.
In his tweet, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal had said, “A Small Step to Beat Plastic Pollution: On #WorldEnvironmentDay, Indian Railways has started using fully biodegradable packages in 4 Shatabdi and 4 Rajdhani trains from Delhi, contributing towards a greener planet (sic).”
