Prime Minister Narinder Modi expressed confidence that India would soon be back on the pre-covid economic growth path if industries leverage the Rs 20 lakh crore package announced by the government and emerge as a trusted and reliable partner the world is looking for. PM Modi made these comments while delivering the inaugural address at the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) annual session for the year 2020 aptly titled Getting Growth Back.
He told the industry that given the current circumstances, world was eagerly looking for a reliable and trusted partner and it was upto the Indian industry to grab this opportunity with both hands and seize the moment. He further added that his government would stand shoulder to shoulder with the industry and will ensure that the conditions are ideal for the Indian industry to get the momentum.
PM Modi further stated that it is the responsibility of the organisations like CII that alongwith the manufactured in India tag, trust, quality and competitiveness has also to be attached importance.
“It is about creating strong enterprises in India that can become global forces. It is about generating employment and the empowering of people to come out and create solutions that can define the future of the country,” he observed.
Prime Minister Modi said that though Corona has pushed us back but India has also pushed back after the lockdown and entered Unlock Phase 1 as a great part of the economy has been opened up and even more will open from June 8.
