The impact of Cyclone Tauktae, which is causing havoc in many states of the country, will also be seen in tricity. Due to it, there will be a change in the weather from May 18 to 20. Wind speed is expected at around 30 to 50 kilometres per hour in the tricity and rain is predicted on May 19.
People will get relief from the heat due to the change in weather. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a circulation in the region as the cyclone progresses, due to which parts of North India will experience rain, thunder and strong winds.
According to the Chandigarh Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 39 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal. The minimum temperature was 21.6 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. There has been no rain anywhere in the tricity in the last 24 hours. The maximum humidity level in the air was 67 and the minimum was 21%.
The temperature will also increase on Monday and can go up to 40 degrees. According to the meteorological forecast, there may be cloudy weather on Tuesday. The maximum temperature can be around 38 degrees and the minimum temperature can be around 24 degrees. Heavy rain is expected on Wednesday.
