CHANDIGARH: To improve quality of education, the Haryana government has decided to open one Sanskriti model school in each block of the state in 2020. At present, 22 such schools are operational in the state, one in each district.
This was confirmed by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday while presiding over the meeting of chief minister’s good governance associates (CMGGAs). Project director Rakesh Gupta was also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, Khattar was apprised of the work done under various initiatives under the Saksham Haryana project. He also directed the officials concerned to get a survey conducted to find out the enrolment ratio of students in science vis-à-vis other streams to ascertain the interest of students. He also announced to fasten approval process for CM Saksham scholarship initiative.
During the meeting it was stated that 107 blocks out of total 119 had been declared Saksham and 86% students grade-level competent. It was also announced that recruitment to more than 1,300 posts of block resource persons (BRPs) and assistant block resource persons (ABRPs) had been made on contractual basis in the state.
Working as mentors, the BRPs and ABRPs spent two-and-a-half hours per day in schools and watch the education being imparted to the students. The CM was also informed on the strategy for improving board results this year for classes X and XII and about the upcoming Saksham Ghoshna rounds in January and February.
While reviewing progress on Antyodaya Saral, the CM directed the oficials concerned to do a diagnosis and finalise the list of new kendras on the basis of demand and geography and appreciated the good performing districts and departments on Antyodaya Saral dashboard.
