Central Government’s One Nation-One Ration Card scheme has been implemented in the city. During a programme on Sukhna Lake, UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore launched helpline number 14445 for the scheme. Also, to get information related to the scheme, a window has been opened in the Department of Food and Supplies, Sector 17.
If someone wants to register himself under this scheme, he/she can contact on the helpline number or go the office. Information about Aadhar card, ration card and bank account will have to be given. After registration, the food subsidy amount will be sent by the administration to the bank account. The One Nation-One Ration Card scheme will benefit the migrant labourers the most, as they stay in one place for a short time and then migrate to another state in search of work. As they are not able to get the ration card in the other state, they were being deprived of ration.
