Chandigarh Administration has decided to set-up a Help Desk in Chandigarh Housing Board for the Covid-19 active patients in home isolation. Its objective is to have regular interaction with the Covid active patients who have been advised home-isolation and assist them medically in case of an emergency.
As per the administration, the Help Desk will be functional round the clock from April 7. During the day time, it will operate from the premises of the Chandigarh Housing Board and thereafter the officials will attend the calls at their residences. The phone numbers are: 7657977818, 7657977819 and 7657977820
Proper records of interactions with the patients will be maintained. In case of emergency, the officials at the Desk will take up the matter with the Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, to arrange for further medical assistance or ambulance for the patient.

A place with basic facilities like pantry and washrooms has already been identified at the premise of the Chandigarh Housing Board for the Help Desk by the administration.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Tuesday listed Chandigarh, along with Punjab and other states, as the “states of concern”, in a media briefing on Covid-19.
The positivity rate has climbed up to 14% from 1.50% in the second week of February. “Although Chandigarh is a small place with low population, the number of cases and the positivity rate have gone up, which is a matter of concern.”
