‘Hamas makes Al Qaeda look pure’: Biden on humanitarian crisis in Gaza

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, termed Hamas terrorists “pure evil” and said addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza was a priority as “they are suffering as well”, as a result of the Israel-Hamas war which started on October 7.Biden also said that Hamas terrorists make Al-Qaeda “look pure”.

“The more we learned about the attack, the more horrifying it becomes. More than 1,000 innocent lives lost, including at least 27 Americans. These guys make, they make Al-Qaida look pure. They’re pure evil. As I said from the beginning, the United States stands with Israel,” Biden said.

“It’s also a priority for me to urgently address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. You know, we have to, we can’t lose sight of the fact that the overwhelming majority of Palestinians had nothing to do with Hamas and Hamas’s appalling attacks, and they’re suffering as a result, as well,” the US President said.

Biden told reporters at an event at a shipping terminal in Philadelphia, that teams are working in the Middle East region. Communication is being held directly with the governments of Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and other Arab nations and the United Nations to surge support and humanitarian consequences for Hamas attack to help Israel. He added the US was committed to returning the Americans who had been taken hostage in the attacks on Israel by Hamas.

“We’re working round the clock to secure the release of Americans held by Hamas, in close cooperation with Israel and our partners around the region, and we’re not going to stop till we bring them home,” Biden said at the event. The US president had earlier vowed his administration’s “rock solid and unwavering” support to Israel. The United States has launched a major global diplomatic drive to garner support for Israel and take the necessary action against the Palestinian militant group Hamas.Hamas launched a wave of attacks on Israel on Saturday, killing hundreds of people, in the biggest escalation in the conflict in decades. Since then, the attack has killed more than 1,300 people in Israel while the Israeli counter-airstrikes have killed more than 1,530 people in Gaza. Israel has claimed roughly 1,500 Hamas militants were killed inside Israel.Biden said the US has also enhanced its military force posture in the region.
