Much like the reel-life dog from the Bollywood film ‘Entertainment’, a pet dog in Madhya Pradesh’s district has inherited his master’s wealth, or at least a part of it.
In an unusual incident, Om Narayan Verma, a farmer from Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district, has named his pet dog as the legal heir of his ancestral property as he was upset with the behaviour of his sons.
Verma says that the dog is like his son and he wants to leave half of his property to him. He said, “I own around 21 acres of land. The notarised will not only include my dog’s name, but also my wife Champa Bai’s name.”
‘My wife and my pet dog take care of me’
As the behaviour of Narayan’s sons was upsetting him, he gave away his property to his pet dog Jacky. Narayan wrote in his will, “My wife and my pet dog take care of me. Therefore, I am the closest to them. After I pass away, I want my second wife Champa and pet dog Jacky to inherit all the property I have. The person who takes care of the dog will inherit the property I have set aside for it.”
As per a report in Nai Dunia, the farmer’s first wife was identified as Dhanvanti Verma. Narayan has three daughters and a son from his first marriage. Narayan and his second wife have two daughters.
He further said the will was made in anger over a family feud, but the problems had been resolved now.
