Eye and ENT departments resume at GMSH-16

The outpatient departments (OPD) of Eye and ENT (ear, nose, throat) have resumed at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16. The hospital administration has asked the doctors of both departments to take extra precaution to prevent the spread of Covid.

Dr VK Nagpal, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, said that the OPD was not being operated due to fear of infection, but it has been started in view of the patients’ problems. He said that if the situation remains under control, then operations will also be performed in eye department soon.

Doctors have been instructed to take extra precautions and asked to use face shield along with the mask. At the same time, along with the corona examination of the patients coming to the OPD, screening is being done twice so that no omissions are made at any stage.

Dr Nagpal said that the doctor treating the patients of Eye and ENT (ear, nose, throat) diseases cannot follow the standard of social distancing, so it is necessary to take additional measures to prevent infection.
