Chitkara University organised a TEDx Talk today at the university campus.
The session came alive with six speakers from various disciplines sharing their experiences and life stories with the audience. The theme for this edition of TEDx is ‘Motivating the youth for a better tomorrow’. The TEDx event included an impressive lineup of speakers such as Major Priya Jhingan, first women cadet of Indian Army; Taranjeet Bhamra, Founder and CEO of AgNext, Mohali; Shradha Khapra, Co-founder of Apna College and Apni Kaksha-xE.drdo-Microsoft; Aanchal Thakur, National Alpine Skiing champion; Divam Wadhwa, Founder and CEO Chai Nagri; and Amit Pandey, CEO-PnCap, Founder and CEO Super77, TEDx speaker. TEDx Talk is a showcase for speakers presenting great, well-formed ideas in under 18 minutes.
TEDx believes in building a clearing house of free knowledge from the world’s most inspired thinkers. The audience was in awe to hear the story of Major Priya Jhingan who always dreamed of wearing the uniform and serve the country. She narrated her dream to be an IPS officer and how she wrote a letter to the then army chief Sunith Francis Rodrigues to offer an opportunity in the Indian Army. India is an emerging technology hub and an established agrarian economy and at the intersection of these worlds, Taranjeet Singh Bhamra is redefining horizons for agriculturists and technocrats alike with his leading agritech start-up AgNext Technologies.
Speaking about how he built AgNext, Bhamra also shed light on how India’s youth has the power to transform agriculture into a powerhouse for national growth.
Shradha Khapra, co-founder of Apna College & Apni Kaksha and an ex Microsoft and DRDO, who is famously known as “Microsoft wali didi” spoke on ‘Growing up with Technology – My story for the Youth’.
The next speaker, Aanchal Thakur, the Himachali girl who won India’s first international medal in skiing, described her love and dedication for the sport that led her journey to success. Divam Wadhwa, an alumnus of Chitkara University and founder of Chai Nagri, talked about his aim to achieve the dream of making his very own Indian Chai, the most popular beverage in the world.
Colloquially known as the Human Charger, Amit Pandey established Super77 with the ambitious vision of transforming human lives. He said, “With an innate passion for giving back to the society, Super77 came into existence in 2020 with transformational programs to instil Leadership Skills, Happiness, Thought Clarity, Failure Management, Confidence, Public Speaking, etc into young students, as well as seasoned working professionals. The platform proudly caters to over 9,000 users from 35 countries who are benefitting through these professional programs immensely.”
