Ex-contractual staff met UT Adviser

Representatives of the ex-staff of NHM, whose contractual appointments were terminated about one month ago by the Health Department, met the Adviser to Administrator UT Chandigarh.

At the outset, worthy Adviser stated that they could have chosen the salary and service conditions of either under NHM or under outsourced under DC rate. The demand that service conditions of NHM with pay of DC rate was not justified and cannot be accepted. Proceeding on sudden strike by the NHM staff was irresponsible on their part and any kind of indiscipline would not be tolerated. The representatives of the ex-staff of NHM expressed their sincere apology and promised that such mistake would not be repeated in future. They requested that the orders for termination of contractual appointment may be withdrawn and to allow them for joining their duties at the earliest. Their contractual employment may be counted without any break in service and the intervening period of absence may be regularised with leave without pay. They would like to continue as a contractual employee under NHM and do not opt for the option of outsourced employee on DC rate.In case the salary under NHM cannot be equal to the DC rate because of the difference in working hours, leaves and other service conditions then the appropriate revision of salary under NHM may please be considered sympathetically.

After detailed deliberations, the above requests of ex-staff were accepted subject to following conditions:

  • Each of them will submit a separate written request accepting the mistake and assurance for better conduct in future.
  • They will voluntary & unconditionally withdraw the pending court case on issue and submit a copy of the withdrawal petition.
  • The salary under NHM cannot be equal to DC rate because of the lesser working hours, better leave and other service conditions. However possibility for appropriate revision of the salary under NHM may be examined separately with due consideration to the working hours, leaves and other service conditions.
