19 employees of Hard Rock Cafe found Covid positive

As many as 19 employees of Hard Rock Cafe in Sector-26 were found Covid positive, after which the municipal corporation (MC) team sealed the cafe for 48 hours.

MC officials said that most of the infected employees are from Punjab and Haryana. The health department has been informed and MC’s team will also speed up its investigation campaign.

Anil Garg, the nodal officer for Covid, said that they were informed by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program team of the Health Department that 19 employees of the Cafe have been infected. The quarantine team of the MC immediately reached the spot and the manager was informed about the situation.

To prevent further transmission of the coronavirus, UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore has appealed to shopkeepers to get themselves voluntarily tested and display a signboard in front of their shops stating that they and their staff are free from the virus.

Moreover, due to the pandemic, the DC has prohibited hookah serving in clubs. Different police stations have taken action on more than 30 clubs in the city including Boulevard, Mobe, Bargain Booze, Qizo, Industrial Area-based Playboy Club, Tamzara, Boom Box, Pipe & Barrel, Terminal and Reef Club.

The MC has also increased the number of quarantine teams from 3 to 9.

One can also dial 112 and give information regarding any violation of Covid guidelines.

The helpline number was issued by the MC during the corona pandemic. When the number of patients had decreased, the phone and messages had almost stopped. But on Wednesday and Thursday, more than 50 complaints and about 40 phone calls were received.
