Education minister hands over appointment letters to 83 persons

School Education and Public Works Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Monday handed over appointment letters to 83 employees on various posts on compassionate grounds. On the occasion, 2 master cadre and 2 elementary teacher training (ETT) teachers, 1 library restorer, 9 clerks and 69 class IV employees were also given appointment letters.

The cabinet minister informed that the education department rapidly processed the applications of family members of the deceased employees and all the recruitment process was completed online. He said that 106 cases were cleared by the Punjab government within months after receiving applications from the families and appointment letters in remaining cases would be sent soon.

Addressing the newly appointed employees, Singla urged them to discharge their responsibilities with honesty and said, “Your first responsibility is to provide monetary support to your families and others is to work diligently and honestly towards the well being of the concerned department.”
