Drones, low-flying objects banned in Chandigarh

Chandigarh DC Mandeep Singh Brar has banned flying the drone in the city. According to the order, not only drones but low flying objects have also been banned.

According to UT administration officials, such things can prove dangerous given the safety of the people, due to which DC Mandeep Singh Brar has imposed a restriction under Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code.

It has been written in the instructions that people can misuse the drone, due to which there is a danger of security, hence it is necessary to ban them. This ban will come into force from January 18 and will be effective till March 18.

However, these orders will not apply to police personnel and other government agencies, if they are flying drones due to their duty. For this, the employee must be in uniform along with a copy of the order to fly the drone from the authority. In addition, drones can be used for photography at social events with prior permission. The social events include ring ceremonies, pre-wedding photo shoot and wedding ceremony.
