In view of the ‘Dilli Chalo’ farmer’s protest that is heading towards Delhi to join the demonstration on November 26 and 27, Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) has suspended the bus services in Haryana area.
The public transport unit further stated that CTU operations in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh may also get affected.
The CTU has requested the commuters to plan their journey on CTU buses after proper inquiry at 0172-2700006 (ISBT-17), 0172 2624403 & 0172-2624413 (ISBT-43).
Also, Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic) party president and Rajya Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa condemned the Haryana government’s order to seal its borders with Punjab, creating obstruction in the farmers’ stir in New Delhi on November 26 and 27.
In a statement, he said that sealing of the borders by Haryana police was unfortunate and had made it clear that the government in Haryana was trying to stop the peaceful ‘Dilli Chalo’ agitation of the farmers at the behest of the Centre government.
