Deputy Chief Minister OP Soni on Friday inaugurated the ultra-modern Radio Diagnostic Facility at Civil Hospital, Rupnagar in the presence of Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Mr. Rana KP Singh.
On this occasion, OP Soni said that with the concrete efforts of Punjab Government, CT Scan machine has been established at a cost of Rs. 2.25 crore under Public-Private Partnership with Krsnaa at Civil Hospital, Rupnagar.
This modernized lab will provide the required test facilities to the patients in their own city at many times lower rates than the private labs. He assured that facilities would be provided to the patients at low rates of about 60 to 70 percent.He said that existing testing facilities in Govt. lab would continue as earlier.
A reference laboratory has also been set up at SAS Nagar. Giving more details about the Radio Diagnostic Facility, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Punjab Radio Diagnostic Project was being launched in Punjab at a cost of about Rs.100 crore. These radio diagnostic labs are being inaugurated today at Rajpura, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and Ropar. Mr. O. P. said that apart from this, another Laboratory Diagnostic Project at a cost of Rs. 25 crore is also being launched in 30 cities of Punjab.
These projects have already been started in Batala, Rajpura and Mohali. About 95 collection centers will be set up in 30 cities. On this occasion the Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Rana KP Singh said that Punjab Government has fulfilled its commitment to provide standardized and quality healthcare facilities to the people of District Rupnagar and Radio Diagnostic Laboratory has been today dedicated to the general public. He said that more important tests would be started here soon. He said that the modern city scan machine has provided relief to the people who come for treatment services in the civil hospital.
