Cyber cell warns against increasing cases in Covid-19 vaccine registration fraud

People are eagerly waiting for Covid-19 vaccine. Taking advantage of this impatience, fraudsters have now started cheating people by sending links related to Covid-19 vaccination on mobile.

In many parts of the country including Bhopal and Noida, many cases of fraud have been reported related to Covid-19 vaccine. In such a situation, the Chandigarh Cyber Cell has also become alert. Cyber thugs are using social media to send links to people or by calling and claim to have the corona vaccine.

In this fraud link, people are being told that the Government of India is conducting a survey for which registration has to be done. The thugs are calling themselves as employees of the government department or an NGO and are asking for the necessary information related to Aadhaar card and bank account. If you get a link or a call like this, please be careful and immediately contact the cyber cell.

Cyber expert Rajesh Rana says that the cyber thugs want to get the OTP number from you somehow. For this, they devise different methods. Avoid opening any link related to Covid-19 vaccine and if someone asks for bank information in the name of registration, do not give it.
