CWG 2018: In a thrilling match, India’s Men Hockey team shines beats England by 4-3

The Indian men’s hockey team beat England 4-3 on Tuesday in the Commonwealth Games 2018 at Gold Coast. Now, it is at the top of the point table in Pool B. India will take on New Zealand in another semis match on April 13.

India’s star duo of Dipika Pallikal and Joshna Chinappa advanced to the quarter-finals of squash women’s doubles, outclassing Malta’s Dianne Kellas and Colette Sultana 2-0 in their final Pool game at the 21st Commonwealth Games

After Shreyashi Singh clinched a gold medal in women’s double trap, Indian shooter Ankur Mittal won a bronze in men’s double trap finals, adding another medal to India’s kitty.

Earlier, ace shooter Heena Sidhu won a gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol event, taking India’s gold count to 11. Heena maintained her prowess throughout the game while other shooters — Chain Singh and Gagan Narang — disappointed by finishing at fourth and seventh, respectively. Meanwhile, in the boxing ring, Mary Kom qualified for the final round, and Gaurav Solanki convincingly beat his Papua New Guinea opponent Charles Keama to make it to the semifinals of the men’s 52kg boxing category.
