Covid update: Chandigarh crosses 6,000 mark; single day highest 377 cases today

As many as 377 new Covid cases and one death were reported in Chandigarh on Tuesday, crossing the 6,000 mark with the tally at 6,372. Also, 226 patients have been discharged, with 2,334 active cases.

In Mohali, three deaths and 168 fresh Covid-19 cases were reported on Tuesday, taking the district’s tally to 5,274 and the death toll stands at 116. As many as 317 patients have recovered from the disease and 2,206 cases are active.

The cases were reported as the following: 50 from Mohali city, 36 from Kharar, 16 from Gharuan, 27 from Dhakoli, 31 from Dera Bassi,  7 from Boothgarh and 1 from Lalru.

In Panchkula, two deaths and 169 cases were reported, taking the district’s death total to 36 and total cases to 3,315. There are 1,240 active cases. Among the fresh cases, 18 are from Kalka, 14 from Pinjore, 8 from Sector 15, 7 each from Bhairon Ki Shair, Sector 14 and Sector 19, 6 each from Banna, Sector 16, Sector 20 and Sector 21, 5 each from Sector 10, Sector 11, Sector 25, Sector 27 and Sector 4, 4 each from MDC Sector 5 and Sector 26, 3 each from Barwala, Marranwala, Moginand, Ramgarh, Sector 12A and Sector 17, 2 each are from Abullapur, Industrial Area Phase 2, Karanpur, Raipur Rani, Rajiv Colony, Sector 2, Sector 28 and Tipra, one each from Abheypur, Amravati Enclave, Bhainsa Tibba, Chandimandir, Indira Colony, Kot, Lohgarh, Maheshpur, Manakpur, Sector 12, Sector 22, Sector 3, Sector 6, Sector 7, Surajpur and Tagra Hakimpur.
