In Chandigarh, 54 cases Covid were reported on Wednesday, taking the case tally to 13,795. With 118 patients discharged today, the number of active cases came down to 744. The death toll stands at 206.
In Mohali, 79 positive cases and two deaths were reported, taking the total positive count to 11,880 and total deaths to 229. There are 598 active cases in the district.
In Panchkula, 30 cases and two deaths were reported, taking the total cases to 9,078 and death toll stands at 109.
In the war room meeting today, Acting Director, GMCH-32, stated that Sood Dharamshala, Sector 22, may be closed, since very few Covid patients are remaining there.
Also, UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore said that mobile Covid testing vans should be placed near temples and gurdwaras during festivities, so that devotees could volunteer for such testing. He directed the police department to be alert during the festival season to ensure that there is no crowding and gathering of people during various celebrations.
