Cong not keen on coming to power in 100 years, says PM Modi

India must not undermine its role in the new world order, especially at the juncture where the country is marking 75 years of Independence, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the ongoing debate on the Motion of Thanks in the Lok Sabha.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the British rule ended in India long back, but the Congress adopted their policy of “divide and rule”, and has now become the leader of Tukde Tukde gang. While replying to the debate on Motion of Thanks to President’s address in Lok Sabha, Modi blamed Congress for instigating migrant labourers to travel during the lockdown. Maharashtra government allowed migrants to go to UP, Bihar during pandemic and spread Covid there, he added. “After losing so many elections there is no change in your (Congress) ‘Ahankaar’ (ego).”

“After 40 years, Congress could not drive out poverty, but the poor drove Congress out.The opposition has raised the issue of inflation here, it would’ve been better had they raised that matter while their govt was in power. In pandemic also our govt tried to tackle inflation. During 2014-2020 the inflation rate was below 5%.You can’t spend a moment without Modi, you start repeating Modi’s name since morning,” Modi cracked jokes on Opposition.

Hitting out at the Congress, PM Modi gives several examples where the grand old party has remained out of power for years. Take for instance, people of Nagaland voted for you in 1998, Since then you didn’t win. Odisha also hasn’t voted for you for 24 years. Goa hasn’t voted for you as a majority for years. In Bengal, they voted for you in 1972, in Tamil Nadu, too, they voted last for you in 1962“They have a problem with ‘Make-in-India’ because it means the end of commissions and kickbacks. They could not succeed, so won’t let the country succeed,” PM said.“If we talk about ‘vocal for local’, are we not fulfilling Mahatma Gandhi’s dreams? Why was it mocked by Opposition. We talked about yoga and Fit India but those were mocked by the Opposition too,” said Modi.

PM Modi said, “People who have been in power for generations and sit in palaces, I want to ask them why they think of small farmers as their enemy? We have to empower them. our small farmers. Our focus is on them. But those who don’t know the pain of small farmers don’t have any right to do politics in the name of the farmers.” “From your words, from your actions, it seems to me that you have decided that you don’t want to come to power for 100 years. So I have also prepared for it,” adeed PM Modi.

“When health experts were telling people to stay where they are, you sinned by telling migrants you would give them tickets. You encouraged people (from Bihar and other) to travel. The Delhi government too organised buses to make migrants travel. The result – the pandemic spread in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab. What kind of politics is this?” said PM Modi.

“State is not a part of any nation or government. For me, state is a living soul,” said PM Modi. He went on to saying, “Covid was a global pandemic but it was used for partisan politics. Congress crossed all limits during the first wave of the infection.
