Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu laid the foundation stone of Community Health Centre at Sector 60, SAS Nagar, on Saturday.
The 40,000 sqft institution, to be built at a cost of ₹13.40 crore, shall provide facilities to the people of the area with modern services. It will have 24×7 emergency services as well as an OPD, diagnostic centre, blood storage room, training hall for 150 persons, state-of-the-art operation theatre, Mother-Child care ward, ladies and gents ward, private rooms, three-story hospital, CCTV security system, treatment plant and parking facility.
On the occasion, Director Dr Manjeet Singh said that the Department is making consistent efforts to improve the services. A community health centre is also being set up in Mohali by upgrading the dispensary.
