A Children’s Film Festival will be held in Chandigarh soon, wherein any child living in the city can participate. It will be screened at the plaza of Sector-17.
The Children’s Film festival is being organised by Alliance Francaise, Sector-36. Manoj Parida, Advisor to the Administrator, gave the approval for it on Tuesday in a meeting where Ophelie Belin, director of Alliance Francaise (AF), Chandigarh, and culture co-ordinator Shilpi Sharma were present.
It was also decided in the meeting that in the coming days, a painting exhibition will be organised in Sector-17 and Rose Garden Underpass. Apart from this, a special talk on ‘Space and Time’ will be organised on January 28 in the City Museum Auditorium.
Moreover, the administrator’s advisor has also allowed Alliance Francaise to hold classes. However, Parida said that the institute must strictly follow the corona virus guidelines.
The AF in Chandigarh was established in 1983 and is recognised by the French Embassy in India. It has played a pioneering role in promoting French culture in the City Beautiful. It provides French courses, official French exams (recognised by the French Ministry of Education), library, cultural activities, Campus France desk for students who aspires for higher studies in France, translations, tour of the city and any advise related to French speaking countries.
