Chetan Bhagat talks about constant adaptability as the key to success at EDUTHON 2.0

In a no holds barred fireside chat, renowned author and columnist Chetan Bhagat emphasised on the need for constant adaptability to succeed in today’s world.

He said that one cannot stick to the same script in today’s times when things are evolving so rapidly and he ascribed his success to it as well.Chetan Bhagat was expressing his views at the second edition of EDUTHON, which was organised by Triniti in association with Chitkara University here today.

The one-of-its-kind event in north India brought together over 120 principals under one roof along with change makers of the education industry for facilitating sharing of knowledge, and conducting serious discussions on best practices and means to revolutionise the teaching and learning process.

Chetan Bhagat also pointed out that teachers play a critical role in shaping a child and thus the future of the world and it was high time that teachers were rewarded proportionately to the impact they have on the world. He mentioned that teachers were not paid well across the globe.He also asserted the need for parents to encourage their children to be bold and develop a fighting spirit as the world is not really a safe space that kids seek and that kids should not get a shock of their lives when they move out of the over protection that their parents are providing them.TRINITi organised EDUTHON 2.0, the second edition of EDUTHON, today at the Hyatt Centric, Chandigarh. Renowned author and columnist Chetan Bhagat addressed the prominent educationists, EdTech innovators, policymakers, and researchers present in the audience and talked about how one needs to reimagine the educational landscape and seek cutting-edge solutions for urgent issues affecting the teaching and learning process.

In the panel discussion on “Breaking the Barriers”, which was moderated by Ankur Malhotra, Founder/Director, TRINITi, Chetan Bhagat talked about how education can transform lives and thus holds the key to changing the world at large. He congratulated TRINITi on completing 20 years and their efforts in bringing together thinkers, educators, policymakers, and future generations to help carve a platform that attracts recognisable voices in the field of education as well as those who can broaden educational horizons.The grand keynote by Sumeet Mehta, CEO and Co-founder, LEAD, was the highlight of the event, wherein he talked about how we need to work towards leaving a clean, better, safe world for children, and also about the importance of adapting our pedagogy to suit the children and make education relevant for everyone.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Niyati Chitkara, Director, Chitkara International Schools (Chandigarh and Panchkula), said, “Only by encouraging frequent interactions and idea sharing among stakeholders, we will be able to understand the implications of NEP and tech-based learning in the educational sector and forecast future trends in this field.”A panel discussion was held on the topic “Education for The Great Unknown – How to nurture the next generation of learners?” amongst career counsellors, educationists, Edtech founders, and influencers. The panelists also deliberated on “NEP 2020 – Challenges and Opportunities”. The event facilitated networking and cooperation amongst like-minded colleagues and gave education leaders a platform to share their experiences and opinions.

The event also highlighted innovative tools, technologies, and practises that have the potential to change how education is delivered in the future. The participants were also made aware of technologies that could help them streamline and enhance the education transmission process.In another panel discussion, students from different schools talked about “The Age of Information: Navigating the Chaos.” The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 150 prominent schools from India, including Shiv Nadar School, Mayo College Ajmer, Vivek High School, Poddar School, Ashiana Public School, Shemrock, Holy Angels School, Cambridge School, Delhi Public School, St. Soldiers, Manav Mangal Smart School, Yadavindra Public School, Springdale School, Aurobindo School, and more.
