In view of surging Covid cases, the timings of the Sewa Kendras have been changed to 9am to 4pm from May 1 to 31, informed Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan on Saturday. Sewa Kendras witness heavy public footfall on daily basis and its personnel are involved in lot of public dealing in receipt, processing and delivery of applications which makes them more vulnerable to Covid-19 infection.
All the payments and transactions at Sewa Kendras should be encouraged through POS machines and other digital modes to avoid cash handling. Covid vaccination certificate is mandatory for Sewa Kendra personnel (DM/ ADM/ MI/ Operators/ Security Guards/ Engineers/ Runner or any other staff to attend the office and personnel currently without certificate shall be vaccinated before resuming duties. No staff member should be allowed if they don’t have the vaccination certificate.
Service delivery would be through appointment only. To avail any service, the applicants are required to take prior appointment mandatorily. No applicant shall be entertained without having valid appointment. Use of masks is mandatory in Sewa Kendras by one and all. Limited number of applicants, ie equal to the number of serving counters at the Sewa Kendra concerned to be allowed inside while remaining public may be asked to wait outside. Output document delivery to applicants through courier mode shall be encouraged.
