Examinations for students pursuing diplomas from Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET) will begin on February 19 that will continue till March 19.
Students have been given the option of both online and offline medium for the exam. Punjab Technical Board has asked all the students to submit their choice of medium of exam by Monday. After that, the technical board will set the schedule and send the information to the colleges. More than 1,200 students have undertaken some diploma from CCET.
Seven diploma courses are conducted in the College including electronics, computer science, architecture, mechanical engineering etc.
Last year, the CCET examinations of these students were conducted online due to the Covid pandemic.
This time, preparations were made to conduct offline examinations. When the students got to know about it, they opposed it and demonstrated outside the technical board office.
Now, the Technical Board has given students a choice of both online and offline mediums for the main exams.
More than 60 polytechnic colleges from Punjab will also be benefitted by this choice of exam, as all of them are connected to the technical board. More than one lakh students are studying in these polytechnics colleges of Punjab. The final decision will be taken by the technical board. If online examination is conducted, then students from far off places will be benefitted.
