Chitkara University, Punjab, had the privilege of hosting an extended and enlightening “CBSE Exposure Visit” in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently.
This prestigious event, under the expert guidance of Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director of CBSE, brought together around 50 principals, and distinguished educators from the Tricity region for a profound exploration of educational excellence spanning two remarkable days.
The event received valuable support from Niti Shanker Sharma, Deputy Secretary, Department of Skill Education, CBSE, who played a crucial role in coordinating with Chitkara University to ensure the event’s success.The primary objective of the CBSE Exposure Visit was to give awareness to all Principals and educational leaders regarding institutions of excellence across India, fostering collaboration for the integration of skill (vocational) education.
The Exposure Visit appraised all school Principals with invaluable insights into interactive learning, access to diverse educational environment, social interactions, and the latest trends and practices in the educational realm. This CBSE Exposure Visit was an important step in realizing the aspirations outlined in the National Education Policy 2020 and SDGs. The policy emphasizes the integration of vocational (skill) education into the mainstream curriculum, starting as early as Class 6.
The event commenced with a keynote address delivered by Dr. Madhu Chitkara, where she emphasized the significant impact that this Exposure Visit swould have on the educational landscape. Following her address, Mr. Sandhir Sharma provided the audience with an insightful overview of the programs and facilities offered by Chitkara Business School. Furthermore, the first and second days of the CBSE Exposure Visit included a comprehensive 360-degree University tour, wherein all the 50 Principals visited various state-of-the-art departments and facilities at Chitkara University.In addition to this, Day 2 of the CBSE Exposure Visit featured a series of engaging sessions.
Dr. Rashmi Aggarwal, Dean of Chitkara Business School, kicked off the day with an informative discussion on Multidisciplinary Skilling through the National Credit Framework (NCrF) and the Implementation of NEP 2020 Mandates. This was followed by Dr. Parul Sood, Assistant Dean of Chitkara College of Education, who shared valuable insights into the Teacher Education landscape, aligning with NEP 2020 and SDGs. Participants then enjoyed a break for relaxation and networking over a sumptuous and delightful lunch.
The day continued with a captivating Cultural Programme that showcased the diversity and vibrancy of Indian culture. A Peer Feedback Session encouraged participants to provide valuable input through the dedicated CBSE Exposure Visit app. Finally, Dr. Sangeeta Pant, Dean of CCE, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and contributors for their active engagement throughout the event. At the culmination of the Exposure Visit Dr Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor of Chitkara University shared her views on the visit.
