The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia for questioning in connection with the alleged Excise Policy scam case nearly three months after filing the charge sheet in the case, officials said on Saturday. The officials said Sisodia had been called on Sunday for questioning.
Meanwhile, in a tweet, Sisodia said, “The CBI has called me again tomorrow. They have used the full power of ED and CBI against me. The officials had raided my house, searched my bank locker but nothing was found against me. I have made arrangements for good education for the children of Delhi. They want to stop me. I have always cooperated with the investigation and will continue to do so.”Sisodia has been named in the FIR registered by the CBI as an accused, but his name did not figure in the charge sheet by the agency.
Arrested businessmen Vijay Nair and Abhishek Boinpally were among the seven accused named in the charge sheet. It is alleged that the Delhi government’s policy to grant licences to liquor traders favoured certain dealers who had allegedly paid bribes for it, a charge strongly refuted by the AAP.
