After the recruitment exam in UT administration, around 3,000 applicants are waiting for the typing test, which has not been held due to the pandemic. Candidates who have passed the examination are demanding to conduct the test for the past several months.
SK Jha, Secretary, Department of Personnel, says that the department is making efforts and the typing tests will be conducted soon. The Administration’s Personnel Department had twice requested UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore for approval for the typing test. However, after assessing the situation, the administrator was not given permission to conduct it.
Officials argue that many candidates from different states will come to the city for it and this can lead to the spread of Covid.
UT administration had set dates of March 15, 21, 22 and 23 for the typing test.
On March 15, around 1,000 applicants also gave the test, but on March 21, 22 and 23, the tests could not be conducted. Since then, around 3,000 candidates have been waiting for the test.
Recently, a campaign was also launched on Twitter by the candidates and an attempt was made to trend #ChandigarhAdministrationTypingTest. Officers were tagged in the posts and demands were raised to set the day for the test.
