Ever since the opening of Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, the jatha from Punjab went to pay obeisance at Gurudwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib for the third consecutive day. The jatha performed ardas for the communal harmony, prosperity of the people of the region, peace and mutual coexistence.
The jatha included Revenue and Rehabilitation Minister Aruna Chaudhary, Education and Sports Minister Pargat Singh, Forests and Wildlife Minister Sangat Singh Gilzian, President Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Navjot Singh Sidhu, Working President PPCC Pawan Goel, Chairman Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training Mohinder Singh Kaypee, MLAs Kulbir Singh Zira, Amit Vij and Rajinder Singh. On the occasion, Revenue and Rehabilitation Minister Aruna Chaudhary said that the reopening of the corridor has again provided the opportunity to NANAK NAAM LEVA SANGAT to have Darshan of Sri Kartarpur Sahib and the ardas of the Sikh Sangat has come to fruition.
The Sports and Education Minister Pargat Singh said that Sri Kartarpur Sahib is that hallowed and sacred place where the first Sikh Guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji spent the last years of his life and undertook farming to give message of KIRT KARO, NAAM JAPO and WAND CHHAKO. From here, the Great Guru Sahiban preached the message of following the principles of humility, unity, peace and welfare. This corridor is a symbol of love, harmony and peace. He expressed hope that the corridor would prove to be instrumental in executing the philosophy of Guru Sahib. The Forests and Wildlife Minister Sangat Singh Gilzian added that he considers himself very fortunate to be a part of the Sangat going with the jatha. It is noteworthy that on the occasion of 552nd Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, after a gap of one and a half years the corridor reopened and for the 3rd day the jatha from Punjab crossed over to Pakistan at 11 AM to pay obeisance at Gurudwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib in Narowal.
Earlier, the jatha was welcomed at Sri Kartarpur Sahib Terminal in Dera Baba Nanak by the Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur Muhammad Ishfaq and SDM Dera Baba Nanak Harpreet Singh.
