Cabinet approves Delhi-Panipat Rapid Rail Corridor, 16 stations to be built

Haryana Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Delhi-Panipat Rapid Rail Corridor, which will make travel more convenient.  The 103.02 km long corridor will have a total of 16 stations, five in Delhi and 11 stations in Haryana. 

The construction of the corridor will be done in two phases. In the first phase, a 58.28 km long corridor will be constructed from Sarai Kale Khan to Murthal (Sonepat). In the second phase, 44.74 km long corridor will be constructed from Murthal to Panipat. The Haryana Cabinet has also approved an amount of ₹4,699 crore for this Rapid Rail corridor. 

After getting approval from Delhi government, it will be extended to Karnal later. According to the plan, the train will run from Sarai Kale Khan and there will be an underground corridor to Kashmiri Gate. In front of Rajiv Gandhi Education City, a station will be built. Ganaur will have stations on both east and west sides and a depot will be built near Hasanpur.
