After a huge gap due to Covid lockdown, boating will start from Sunday (November 1) on Sukhna Lake. According to the new unlock guidelines, the Chandigarh administration has approved conditional boating at Sukhna Lake. However, it has not been decided whether to open the play area.
On March 18, the Chandigarh administration stopped boating at Sukhna Lake in view of the growing threat of Coronavirus. The children’s play area on the lake was also closed. All guidelines and protocols will have to be followed and there will be no increase in the rent. Boat operators must conduct thermal screening of each person 100 meters away from the boating site. The boat will be sanitised after each turn. Only 50% seating capacity with physical distancing will be allowed.
