Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Administrator UT Chandigarh, met the Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Delhi, on his first visit to the capital, on September 6, after taking over as the Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh. Purohit had sworn in as the new Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh on August 31. The Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana high court Justice Ravi Shanker Jha had administered the oath of office to Purohit at Punjab Raj Bhawan.
