The Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh, Sh. Banwarilal Purohit extended his greetings to the people of Punjab and Chandigarh on the first day of Navratri. The festival represented the beginning of victory of righteousness over evil and knowledge over ignorance.
In his message, the Governor said that nine-day long festival dedicated to goddess Durga and each day, nine forms of the goddess are worshipped.
May this festival be an occasion for revival and rejuvenation and May Goddess keep inspiring us to serve, he added.
