Badnore directs GMCH-16 to start mobile testing facility

Presiding over Daily War Room meeting on Monday, Punjab governor and UT Administrator, VP Singh Badnore, directed Government Multi Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, (GMSH-16) to start mobile testing facilities.

“The testing teams can go in mobile vans, collect samples and give test results on-the-spot. This will be helpful to senior citizens, who are reluctant to go to hospitals for such tests,” he said.

He stated that the focus of the administration should be early detection of the cases, particularly those of comorbid patients, so that the fatalities could be kept at minimum.

He also directed that there should be focus on Information Education Communication (IEC ) activities and, if necessary, bulk SMS should be sent to all the residents, advising them to follow hygienic practices and to get themselves tested at the first sign of symptoms.
